We are continuously monitoring technological advances in dentistry and aggressively pursue the ones we believe will enhance your experience with us. Following are more details of some of the high tech benefits we offer:

New! OraVerse™ Local Anesthesia Reversal
After treatment requiring local anesthesia, you'll be able to return to your normal routine more quickly. Dr. Gerber uses OraVerse™, a new product which reverses the effects of local anesthesia. It cuts the time of being numb in half and is administered after treatment is completed. OraVerse™ was recently FDA approved for children and adults. The active ingredient is phentolamine mesylate which has been used in other medical applications for the last 50 years.

New! Fast, Painless VELscope Detects Oral Cancer Before Visible
You can rest easier knowing that your dental exam is more thorough at our office. Traditional visual screenings for oral cancer miss the disease until it’s advanced and may be too late for treatment or requires disfiguring surgery. When oral cancers are found early, they can be removed before they spread. Our new VELscope technology is clinically proven to detect precancerous lesions in the early, more treatable stages. The exam is a quick painless procedure uses flourescence of the oral cavity to produce images that allow our technicians to immediately identify lesions of concern.

Are You Fearful of the Dentist

Hi Everyone,
There are many reasons 50% of the population put dental care at the bottom of the healthcare list. Some people are downright fearful while others have suffered bad experiences in the past. Or some need extensive care and simply can’t find enough hours in the day. It’s time to rest easy.
Sedation Dentistry is here!
You’ll find your treatment is performed more comfortably than you might ever have thought possible. You’ll be drowsy, and unaware of the time passing by. The big plus? We can accomplish extensive amounts of dentistry at one time, and you’ll have little or no memory of the experience. For anxious patients, this new treatment is a miracle. Your dental health is important and need not be neglected because you are nervous. Oral Sedation Dentistry is as simple as taking a pill. Wake up to a new, beautiful smile! This invitation is open to you, your friends and family. Go to my website: http://www.drgerbercosmetic.com for more information. Please call today: 631-331-4200 for a FREE consultation, if you have any questions or are ready to begin.

Invisalign® -- It’s Never too Late to Straighten Your Smile

Hi everyone,
If you’re like most people when you hear the word “Orthodontia” the first thing that pops into your mind is a picture of yourself (or someone you love) with braces on, those crude metal clips and wires that look like something out of the middle ages. Perhaps that’s because you have never heard of Invisalign® – the clear alternative to braces!

Invisalign® is an orthodontic technique that uses a series of clear plastic, easily removable aligners to straighten teeth. The aligners are made from thin, see-through plastic, which are worn for approximately 20 hours per day and are changed (and advanced) on a bi-weekly basis. Each aligner is specifically designed to move a tooth or a small group of teeth.

One of the great things about Invisalign® is that Dr. Gerber has the ability to create a computerized 3-D model of your teeth that will show exactly how Invisalign® will change and straighten your smile over the course of your treatment.

This sophisticated proprietary software allows Dr. Gerber to review your treatment plan aligner-by-aligner and make corrections before your treatment has even begun. In fact, your aligners won’t even be made until your treatment plan is reviewed via the ClinCheck® system and you and Dr. Gerber are satisfied with the results!

About 2 weeks after you’ve given the okay for your aligners to be made our office we’ll receive the complete set (from start to finish) along with a patient start-up and care kit. Once our office receives them you and Dr. Gerber will check for fit and comfort and your treatment begins!

Invisalign® has many advantages over braces; they are nearly invisible. They are extremely easy to insert and remove, which comes in handy when it’s time to eat! They are comfortable to wear and most people are completely used to them after the first day of wear (your speech may be mildly affected initially). Plus, they are super easy to take care of – just brush the aligners when you brush your teeth!

So if you or someone you love have always wanted to straighten your teeth and improve your smile but were apprehensive about braces contact our office at http://www.drgerbercosmetic.com or (631)791-5377 to see if Invisalign® is right for you!

$Million Dollar Smile

Hi Everyone,
Lumineers by Cerinate can give you a Million Dollar Smile in 2 visits?

What are Lumineers®?
Lumineers®, porcelain veneers, are made out of the patented porcelain Cerinate®. Cerinate® is an exceptionally strong type of porcelain and this property allows Lumineers® to be fabricated to extremely thin tolerances. To put it in perspective, the thickness of Lumineers ® veneers can be as little as .2 to .3 millimeters (along the same lines as a contact lens!) In comparison, traditional porcelain veneers typically require a minimal thickness of around .5mm.

The Old Way
In traditional porcelain veneering, a dentist will first “reduce” a tooth (grind away some of the tooth’s surface). Each tooth has an ideal contour and thickness and no dentist wants to create an end result where a veneered tooth has become oversized or bulky, so they trim the tooth back the same amount as the thickness of the porcelain veneer being placed. In most cases this tooth trimming means that a dental anesthetic will be required so the dental patient remains comfortable while the tooth reduction process is performed.

The New Way
A Lumineer® veneer is so very thin there is no need to trim back a tooth’s surface. When the veneer is bonded into place, its presence will not add enough bulk to the tooth to pose a problem. Since no drilling is needed, no anesthetic (“shot”) is required either. The “No drilling” Lumineers® technique also offers the added convenience that no temporary dental veneers need to be placed. (Lumineers® veneers offer the flexibility of using traditional porcelain veneering technique if the situation requires it.)

It takes only 2 easy visits to bring out your beautiful new smile. During your first visit a precision mold will be taken. You and your dentist will also choose the right shade for your new, permanently white smile. On your second visit, your custom designed LUMINEERS® are checked for fit and shade. Then, they’re painlessly attached.

Are YOU a Candidate?
Almost anyone is a candidate for Lumineers. Whether your teeth are dark, crooked or spaced or you want “instant orthodontics”, Lumineers can GREATLY improve your smile. People who are afraid of needles are perfect patients because there are no needles and no numbness! People with spaces between their teeth can get great results with Lumineers because the spaces can be closed when the Lumineers are bonded to the teeth. It couldn’t be easier! They’re even reversible, so you have nothing to lose and a beautiful smile to gain. Plus—LUMINEERS are proven to last for over 20 years, so your beautiful smile will be with you for years and years.

For more information go to my website: http://www.drgerbercosmetic.com/, or call my office: 631-791-5377 for a FREE Lumineers consulatation.
